About Sidney Tire, Inc.

Sidney Tire, Inc. was founded in 1974 by Tony Roefs on the premise that great customer service, quality products and workmanship, and fair pricing would make for success in the market place. Sidney Tire, Inc. has proven that premise to be true with strong and steady business to this day, even through the upheaval from the Covid-19 pandemic.

A Family Business

Two of Tony's sons, Larry and Ben, began working at Sidney Tire, Inc. during their teen years. Larry branched out and trained as an electrician, then came back to Sidney Tire, Inc. and spent nearly a decade as a commercial tire salesman. Ben also branched out for a time, and worked as a certified heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) technician before coming back to Sidney Tire, Inc. and becoming an ASE certified mechanic, thereby enabling the shop to become a New York State Department of Motor Vehicle Registered Repair Shop. Both Ben and Larry are New York State Certified Motor Vehicle Inspectors.

A nephew, Thomas, has also worked at Sidney Tire, Inc. since the age of 16, leaving for a short time to learn welding. Ben's wife Nancy joined the company 25 years ago, and has become a master on the customer service and billing side of the business. Debbie recently joined the company as the bookkeeper and office manager, positions she previously held at a solar installation company. And rounding out the shop crew is 8 year veteran and alignment specialist, Cole.

In 2005, Tony retired and sold the business to Larry, who retains ownership to this day. Larry's keen business sense and management style is very similar to his father's: community minded and hands-on, with trust and respect for his team.
